Mapped

you jabbed push pins into my flesh
marking every part of me you tasted
a dozen over my heart alone
hammering them in until
my blood proved I could feel you

my metal didn’t suit your tongue
but you feasted on the sweetness of my
trepidation that turned once you
raped trust with tainted truths
a most charming modus operandi

my air tastes your banana bread lies
and smells like childhood memories
eating me alive in fangs that tear through
truth in painful bloodletting that holds no grace

fortified with my iron you thrive
in my anguish, you bathe in my disease
an artist with surgical steal omissions
armed with needles of my own despair

carve your poison into my flesh in
black-etched images of who I believed you to be
jab pins through my visions of you
string yarn and quackle my Dracula dreams

you jabbed push pins into my flesh
marking every part of me you tasted
a dozen over my heart alone
hammering them in until
my blood proved I could feel you
